Woven Wire

 

Our most common fence is Woven wire! It has lots of different names, including American wire, box wire, non-climb, etc. At Family Fencing, we use the term “woven wire” to describe any fence that has vertical and horizontal wires connected to form a grid. These grids can be many different sizes depending on the distance between the wires.

 

The primary advantage of woven wire fencing over other fence types is its security, particularly for animals. Woven wire is specifically designed to keep animals in or out. A tight grid of wires nailed securely on sturdy posts can keep something as small as a rabbit out and or keep an animal as big as a horse in. The only way animals can get through is if the woven wire fence is actually broken. If the security of your animals or livestock is a top priority of yours, we’d highly recommend you consider installing woven wire fencing on your property.

Board Fence

 

Post & rail (board fence) is the old faithful of agriculture fencing. The board fence has a variety of designs. It provides elegance and stability that we consider a work of art! Posts are spaced every eight feet and typically three or four boards run horizontally. Under the seasoned and artistic eye of our Family Fencing team, it flows smoothly over hills and gently curves around property lines and is possibly the most profound way to showcase your estate. It draws your guests into your home with a country welcome.

 

You may decide to leave your board fence a natural wood color or paint it a bright and distinguishing white. There's many options for colors! Whichever you choose, the board fence is one of the greatest assets you can use to enhance your property’s value appearance, general feel, and style. Though the board fence requires more maintenance than a wire fence, I believe if you take pride in your property, you will find the extra effort well spent.
