Wood Fences
A variety of options are available when looking into wood fencing. Whether for agriculture use or residential privacy fencing - Family Fencing can provide the right option for you!

Pressure - Treated Pine Wood Fences
The pine pickets are pressure-treated to protect against rot and decay using EPA-approved, safe for environment and pets, MCA (Micronized Copper Azole). Southern yellow pines typically have very wide growth rings and thick dense latewood compared to cedar. Typically used for most of the lumber you'd find on the shelves of a lumber store.
Wood Privacy Fence
One of our more popular fences is the six-foot tall, wooden privacy fence with dog ear style pickets. Our privacy fences are offered in shadow box and semi privacy styles also. However, these aren't just any ordinary privacy fences like the rest of the neighborhood has. This is the King-Plus Privacy Fence, brought to the NRV by Family Fencing! We use 4 2x4s compared to 3, and schedule 20/40 steel post compared to 4x4 post. Never again will you be replacing a post on your privacy fence! These posts will outlast the fence built on them. We're bringing the strongest, longest lasting privacy fence to the NRV.
Did we mention there's no dirt involved? The best part about the King-Plus Style fence, is the
homeowner doesn't have to pay more to get it! King-Plus is the same cost as a standard wooden privacy fence. Still not sure about it? Take a look and see for yourself!
Board Fences
Whether it's agricultural, driveways, or a backyard paradise for the pets, board fence is a very popular style of fencing still today. If you can dream it, we can build it! We use one inch or even a true five quarter board milled from hardwood and treated.
Let’s talk post: We have access to some of the best milled post Virginia has ever seen! From Premium to standard, our round post are made to last! We can offer great prices building you wire/board fences with round post due to keeping so many in stock! We prefer not to use 4x4 post unless requested. 4x4 post are used on very few styles of fencing and are proven not to outlast comparable sized round post.
Wire: When it comes to wire, we won't "stretch" the truth! Welded wire is budget friendly but it's no acquaintance to your string trimmer. We like the best because it lasts! We're fond of Bekaert and Stay Tough fence wire. Whether for dogs, sheep/goats, horses, or cows, you can't go wrong using great products and having peace of mind. You invest so much on your pets and livestock; give them the best they deserve.
Staining Wood Fences: We highly recommend staining your wood fence as soon as possible after installation. Timing will depend on the staining product used, weather, and moisture levels in the wood. We would be happy to speak with you about the future of your fence and schedule its first staining!
